there no strategy, I'm just gonna whoop his ass... that's my strategy, the whoop ass strategy
Learn MMA for fitness?
Sat, 02/05/2009 - 12:43
Hi Guys, was wondering if it'll be worth it to learn MMA just to keep fit? but if it's like 300 bucks per month, then it really turns me down. What do you guys think?

Why not,not all who do mma, compete in competition.
Yup.. it's true. Like i train in MMA and submission grappling also for fitness, as a hobby.. not to fight pro..
The thing is, I'm not in shape and just thought of picking up mma as a sport, because I'm pretty interesting in watching UFC. Hope that having the interest will convert to having to heart to train, you know what I mean? What do you guys think, shall I sign up at BXG for their muai thai lessons? Evolve is more for people who already know mma...
which channel showcase UFC in Singapore.
none. The local media authority don't see the appeal in two grown up men fighting in a cage.
That is why I dun reli like singapore
Which place do you reccomend in singapore if i wan to join mma in the end october?
Go down to see them first!
Don't mind me saying this, TayJiaWei, but are you dumb or are you simply a drone who is trying to create dissent in the MMA Community. Check the forums and despite the low traffic, you will find tons of other thread on MMA Gyms. 10 out of 10 times, the advice given is to go down for a trial and feel for yourself. You come onto the forums and asked such a question. What kind of answer do you expect?
"Oh! Join FWA, the best MMA Gym!"
"Oh Join Evolve! Top MMA Gym with Champion instructors!"
"Oh Join FightG! They are the first MMA Gym in Singapore!"
Go through the threads and you will realise that most of the time, answers like this will lead to conflicts. Unwanted conflicts between the gyms. Gym A hates Gym B. Gym B hates Gym C. I can quote you at least 3 threads where mmasg or myself or some other members have said; "Go down for the trial and feel for yourself."
I really hope that your question is genuine and not made out to create dissent.. anyway you should have done a check on the forums before popping such a question to begin with.

Ok, first of all I agree with u. But, you dun have to tell me so aggressively. I dun wan to start a conflict and i noe neither do you. I am reli a begginer and i love mma. I wish i can know some places which i can learn my favourite sport from. Thanks.
It'll be best if you are really able to have the time. Don't get into a situation whereby you've joined and is paying monthly but don't have the time to train. This is what is happening to me...
Hi Break Free, After my exams i will have all the time i wan. Thx for ur advice.

MMA is an EXCELLENT workout. It's the most complete all round sport in terms of agility, strength, stamina etc.
As for which gym...every gym has it's pros and cons.
Let me be frank, of course I support my gym Impact MMA, but I will admit other gyms have strengths too.
Evolve has good BJJ programmes.
Fight G is VERY reasonably priced.
I won't list my own gym's strengths as I don't wanna get involved in this bitchiness. I'd just say, do your research, go down, walkaround, do the trials. Ask the students of each gym.
Well anything you want to do and excel in it, you must be committed so it depends like how determined you are or like what's your goals eg; lose weight in xx amount of time or pass your ippt. I think if you can have these details, it'll help you make a better decision to decide with gym can meet your needs and achieve your goals. Than I think you'll be able to decide like whether $xxx amount is worth it or not... well thats just my two cents worth of opinion but i hope it helps :)hope you find a good gym to train in and keep fit!
Why do people think MMA is a form of Martial Arts. If you don't have any knowledge of striking and grappling, MMA is not for you.
Its called Mixed Martial Arts for a reason. Its is not a system by itself.
